OUR EDUCATIONAL MODEL

Fernspring’s educational model is based on the integration of three elements that complement one another: a connection with nature, learning through meaningful experiences, and a child-centered approach to education.

Forest School

Learning in contact with nature

Inspired by the Forest School approach, we view nature as a privileged space for learning. Daily contact with the natural environment allows children to develop curiosity, resilience, autonomy, and a deep connection with the world they inhabit.

Nature becomes a living classroom where they can observe, explore, investigate, and discover.

Child-Centered Learning

Every child has their own learning journey

We recognize that every child learns differently and has their own pace, interests, and talents.

Our role as educators is to support that process by creating experiences that allow children to explore their interests, build self-confidence, and discover their

abilities.

Expeditionary Learning

Learning by Exploring the World

Learning also takes place through projects and explorations that invite children to investigate real-world questions.

Inspired by the Expeditionary Learning approach, we foster experiences where children work on projects, explore topics that spark their curiosity, and develop knowledge through exploration and collaboration.

Role of the Guide

At Fernspring, educators act as learning guides.

Their role is not merely to convey information, but to observe, support, and create experiences that enable children to explore their interests and develop new skills.

Guides ask questions, provide tools, and create an environment where curiosity can flourish.
